From April 12 to 14, 2025, the 9th Grubbs Symposium, jointly organized by the Shenzhen Grubbs Institute and the Department of Chemistry, was successfully held at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). The event reportedly attracted over 300 participants, including leading scientists, distinguished scholars, early-career researchers, and industry representatives from China, the United States, France, Germany, Canada, and other countries. Professor Zhang Hong from our research group was invited to attend and delivered a presentation titled "Strained Metallacycles: Synthesis, Reactivities, and Application," showcasing the group's latest advancements in the construction and application of strained metallacycles to peers worldwide.

The organizing committee also arranged a student poster session. Doctoral candidates Xin Yang and Yaowei Zhang, along with master's student Haoxiang Dong from our group, presented their research work to faculty and peers. Notably, doctoral candidate Zhang Yaowei was honored with the "Best Poster Award."
